Join Mizzou Atlanta for a roadtrip to Athens! A variety of packages are available to get you to campus, fed and at the game!
The Tiger Tailgate at Georgia is sponsored by the Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau. Kick-off is noon; Tiger Tailgate will begin 3 hours prior to kick-off, or 9:00 a.m. Less than a mile away from the stadium, the Classic Center is the perfect place to show your spirit before the game. See below for more information about the tailgate.
Bus information: We have reserved two buses but both are completely booked. If you purchased bus passes, you should have received an email from Chad Bozarth with your instructions. Buses will be picking up at the Brookhaven MARTA station (4047 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30319) and the DOT Commuter Lot at I-85 and Sugarloaf Parkway exit, across from Sugarloaf Mills Mall off North Brown Road. BE SURE TO BE THERE ON TIME as many people have purchased passes to the MAA tailgate in Athens and our goal is to get everyone there by 9:00 a.m.
The buses will be full, so there will be no room to purchase extra seats on site.
If you purchased tickets to the tailgate and game through the MAA package, both will be available for pick-up at The Classic Center in Athens. You may bring your own coolers, beverages (alcohol is most definitely allowed), chairs, food, etc. There are smaller storage bins inside for purses and backpacks, and larger items such as coolers and chairs can be stowed below.
Buses will leave Athens from the Classic Center; those that purchased passes will be given the pick-up time upon arrival at the MAA tailgate.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Chad, and he will try to assist. He can be reached via email at email@example.com.
One last thing: We have secured a couple of GREAT raffle prizes for each bus… so make sure you have cash available to help out our chapter!
Tailgate info: The tailgate will begin at 9:00 a.m. at The Classic Center. A performance by Marching Mizzou, Truman, and the Golden Girls will begin at 9:45 a.m. A program featuring University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe, MAA President Tracey Mershon, MAA Executive Director Todd McCubbin and Mizzou Athletic Director Mike Alden will take place at approximately 10:15 a.m.
Game day parking is available at The Classic Center at the cost of $20 per vehicle. Public parking is very limited around the stadium as most lots are reserved for UGA donors. Additional parking spaces are available in the downtown Athens area.
In addition to the pre-game event, Trappeze Pub in Athens has been designated as our Mizzou Headquarters for the weekend. Trappeze is featuring a Missouri beer vs. Georgia beer Tap Takeover Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The venue will be decorated with Mizzou and Georgia colors so this will be a great place to meet up with fellow Tigers. Trappeze is located on the corner of Hull St. and Washington St. in downtown Athens.
